Grounds For Thought

Grounds for Thought coffee and bookstore is the kind of place where you can grab a great cup of coffee and the latest book, dig into food born from local ingredients, and take in breathtaking views. The goal was to create a place where everyone feels welcome to share ideas, meet friends, and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with good company

 

The first website I created at Murray State University I used Adobe Dreamweaver to produce a streamline site with site headers, nav bar floated columns and images. For this assignment the class was evaluated based on the navigation, interactivity and hierarchy in typography. I focused on the organization of each page and chose a cohesive design style that represented the GROUNDS FOR THOUGHT brand.

Our complete rebrand (Logo and website) really showcases their mission to strengthen the community through the inspirational nature of books and their premium coffee. The logo captures this by having….getting across the duality of their message of unity while focusing on individuality, This can be seen in the design as well, with typography that is both serif and sans-serif, merging two styles together. 

We worked hard to create a memorable visual image and positive message. 

Designed to feel cozy, warm, and welcoming. It’s a place where coffee meets books - to create a connection between people and communities.
