Water is Life

The Water Project Website Design – The Water Project is a non-profit organization that brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. This site serves as a tool to raise awareness about their cause and funds for the necessary infrastructure for their mission. The Water Project's website was created to build awareness and support of their mission. I was tasked in the university assignment to fictionally work with The Water Project to define a brand personality and then design a website that reflected that personality.

The Water Project's brand personality is optimistic, bold and impactful, so I wanted the design to be large-scale, bright and colorful. I also wanted the site to be highly interactive so visitors could learn about The Water Project's work while they were there.

The water project is a 100% non-profit making charity dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to people in developing communities.

Website Design

The site is designed to convey optimism rather than focusing on the negative aspect I chose bright blues and green to show what life will look like with the donors support. The logo created for the non-profit THE WATER PROJECT depicts hands coming together to help with the water crisis and uplift Africa. Using custom CSS and Adobe Dreamweaver I built this website from the ground up. I took multiple images and used Adobe Photoshop to design them in a friendly and cohesive style. I chose to use a halftone effect to add depth to the photographs while using bright and approachable typography as a call to action for the user.

This University assignment was a fictional design project however the water crisis in Africa is a real problem and The Water Project - A Charity Providing Access to Clean Water in Africa is a real charity.
